Not Cool Clark returns for a lesson in Gen Z slang!
"All streams run to the sea, but the sea is not full." - King Solomon
That quote sounds ominous. Better pack a towel for this one, because the sea is coming for you!
What exactly is Way Cool Wednesdays?
The kids ministry at Kerrville Church of Christ (affectionately known as KCC Kids) is bringing one of a kind events for kids 2 yrs. - completed 6th grade on 5 Wednesdays this summer! (Maybe bringing 5 of a kind events...) Each week we will have a new activity and we are going ALL OUT! We'll have teams, we'll compete, we'll have fun and we'll develop relationships among teens and kids. The KCC Kids summer theme for 2025 is "Lighthouse." In conjunction with our summer theme, the Way Cool Wednesdays themes will be "Twinkle" (Who shined brightest in the darkness), "Sea" (The chaos of the sea comes for us all), "1UP" (Jesus's extra life gives us 1UP, too), "Guide" (God guides us through the chaos), and "Shine" (we must become a lighthouse for others in the chaos).
Who can participate in Way Cool Wednesdays?
Way Cool Wednesdays is for kids as young as 2 years old! All kids who have completed Kindergarten - 6th grade will be separate from all kids who have not yet attended school. This allows us to have age-specific activities for the kids. The younger group of kids will end at 7:30 while the older group will end at 8:00. We encourage all preschool kids to have parents stick around during the event.
What if I'm not a member of KCC?
No problem! We are stoked to offer these events ABSOLUTELY FREE to any kid who wants to be involved! We just require that the parent/guardian of each child completes our online registration form.
What if I can't make it to all of the Way Cool Wednesdays?
You can still be Way Cool! We want you to be here as often as you can, but you can jump in whatever week you would like with no strings attached!
What can I expect?
You can expect 2 hours of fun and fellowship (or 1.5 hours for pre-K kids)! We will partner background checked adults and high school students with elementary students to create "teams." These teams will get to know each other well, have a great time together and maybe even learn a few things. Each night will consist of different activities and will be split between two venues: River Star Event Park and Kerrville Church of Christ. As for which events we'll be doing each night, well, part of what makes these Wednesdays Way Cool is the mystery! Read the one word description and use your imagination. You may or may not be right!
What does my child need to bring?
Each night will be different. Many nights will need closed-toe shoes and wearing clothes that are okay to get messy is encouraged. Drinking water, a towel, sunscreen, and a change of clothes are always a good idea!
Where is Way Cool Wednesdays?
This year, WCW will be split between two venues: River Star Event Park (4000 Riverside Dr, Kerrville, TX 78028) and Kerrville Church of Christ (1900 TX-Loop 534, Kerrville, TX 78028). Here is the schedule:
June 4, June 11, July 9 - River Star Event Park
June 18, July 16 - Kerrville Church of Christ
Will there be food?
We will not be providing a meal at Way Cool Wednesdays, but we will have a halftime and get a snack. If your child has any food allergies, please have your child bring a personal snack. We will also have water available, but it's never a bad idea to bring your own!
Can my child bring a friend?
Absofruitly! Please direct a parent/guardian of the friend your kid is bringing to the online registration page so that we can be prepared. The online registration page is the "sign up free" button next to the above graphic.
Can I volunteer?
As long as you fill out a background check, we would love for you to volunteer! Send an email to kids@kerrvillechurch.com if you're interested and we can get rolling! Outside of that, we always welcome and encourage parents to stay with their kids, especially with the younger group.
How do I sign up?
